Welcome to the Cohos Trail Association

CAUTION! The Balsam's are mowing their mountain bike trails near the Sanguinary Trail. Please be sure to follow the yellow blazing and not get off on to the bike trails. You could be hiking a lot of unneccesary miles
We have reached a new milestone. As of 18 August 2009, we are officially an international trail. You can now hike from Crawford Notch all the way to Mt Megantic or Mt Gosford in Quebec. You can then continue on all the way to Newfoundland via the IAT. The trailhead for the Sentier Frontaliers system is just 200 yards into Canada beyond the Canadian customs. Ensure you have your pass card or passport before trying to return to the US!
This site contains a great deal of information about the Cohos Trail. We sincerely hope you enjoy the site and can find the information that you are looking for. We will try our best to keep this site up-to-date with all the latest information concerning the trail and any events we may be having. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
President's Message

I would like to start by welcoming Armand Buteau on board as our new VP. He lives here in Pittsburg and is very knowledgable of the backwoods. He will prove to be a great asset to the association.
This spring and summer have been very soggy so far. Yet we have accomplished a lot of trail work. The new Deadwater Trail is open and bypasses the old Ben Young Hill Trail and many miles of road walking. Look for the new Prospect Mountain Trail to open some time in August. The material is ready and should be on site soon so that we can put in the 250 plus feet of bog-bridging on the Camp Otter Trail. We are always looking for volunteers to help us. If you are interested, please call us at (603) 538-6777 or email us at Cohos Trail
We had a low turnout for the 2nd Annual Celebration, but overall, it was a very successful event. Those that attended had a very good time. Hope more of you can attend next June.
The Mountain Bungalow on Prospect Mountain in Pittsburg is ready to go. Please go to Bungalow for more information.
Click here for the 2010 trail changes here. Print them out and bring them with you on the trail! Additional 2010 updates will be added as the new trails are completed. We are currently working at GPSing the trail system and will make that available as we get the coordinates. Much of the new trail is already GPSed and we will release those as soon as the trail is finished.
Our most recent grant was recently received from Fields Pond Foundation Thank you for your generosity!
Please go to the Bulletin Board for important new information about the Cohos Trail.
For a list of sights and day hikes in the Pittsburg area, go to: Sights. These features are not part of the Cohos Trail, but are well worth the time spent to visit.
