Q. What's the status of the trail? - Is it still all road walking from the Pittsburg village to the Canadian border?
A. Not any more~! Several new sections of trail have come online since the summer of 2010. Check out the Updated Updates or IMPORTANT changes for 2011! The Black Cat Trail is open and blazed...From The Idlewilde Road going into 2nd Connecticut Lake there's a new section of trail called The Idlewilde Spur that runs .3 mile between Second Connecticut Lake and Route 3 and takes you to the 2nd Lake Dam parking area where you'll connect onto The Falls in The River Trail for 2 miles - then left (south) onto the Moose Alley Trail for 1.6 miles - cross the Magalloway Road and connect onto the Camp Otter Trail for approximately 2.9 miles - turn right and follow the Camp Otter Road to Rt. 3, turn north (right) for a few dozen feet then take your first left after crossing Round Pond Brook. Pass around the gate onto a private woods road emptying out into an open log landing at which you'll want to bear left where you'll then pick up the post and sign for the Round Pond Brook Trail. Follow this approximately 1.1 miles then bear right on the Round Pond Road to a log landing (3/4 mile) where you'll pick up the Covell Mountain Trail - hike up over Covell Mountain and down the other side to Ramblewood's Campground....follow the yellow blazes across Ramblewoods x-country ski trails 14, 19, 18 and 2, then across to Prospect Mountain - down the south side of Prospect to Young's Store on Rt. 3 then continue on the Minnon-Young Trail to the River Road and Lake Francis State Park and the Lake Francis Trail.
Q. I have donated to the trail in the past - How can I find a list of those who've contributed to the trail?
A. Because The Cohos Trail Association relies solely on donations, memberships and grants, we've created a page just for you called The Wall of Fame.
Q. I would like to volunteer some time on the trail but don't know how to go about this. How can I find out when you're working the trail?
A.Check the Home page for the most up-to-date trail work dates. There is a volunteer information page on 'Volunteer Application' for you to fill out with your contact information. When you email or mail your information back to us, we will make sure that you're informed of every work detail scheduled, well in advance. We will state the location and duration of the project and what you can expect.
